About the Church

FGD Youhanabad No. 2 Church stands as a powerful testimony of God’s transforming grace in one of the most overlooked and spiritually burdened areas of Punjab, Pakistan. Established through prayer, perseverance, and bold evangelism, this church was birthed in a community once marked by resistance, poverty, and deep spiritual darkness.

Through the faithful efforts of FGD Ministries and the leadership of Pastor Shafqat Shoukat, the Gospel took root, lives were transformed, and a new spiritual foundation was laid. What began as outreach in a difficult environment has now grown into a thriving place of worship, discipleship, and hope.

Today, FGD Youhanabad No. 2 Church stands not only as a physical structure, but as a living testimony of breakthrough—where faith overcame opposition, and where God continues to build His people for His glory.

Church History

The history of FGD Youhanabad No. 2 Church is a journey of faith rising in the face of resistance and impossibility.

The foundation was laid in November 2018, when a Gospel convention opened the door to ministry in a spiritually dark and neglected area with no prior church presence. Despite strong opposition, threats, and spiritual challenges, the team continued reaching out with unwavering commitment.

Soon after, Pastor Barkat Masih was entrusted with the work, and together with Pastor Shafqat Shoukat and FGD leadership, the mission moved forward—marked by perseverance, prayer, and bold evangelism. Lives began to change, and the first breakthrough came as hearts opened to the message of Christ.

Following this, land was acquired, and construction of the church began. By August 2019, the walls were completed, and the first gathering was held on-site. Shortly after, through God’s provision, the roof was installed, and by March 2019, the first meeting under full covering took place—marking the church’s physical and spiritual establishment.

In April 2019, the church entered a new phase of encouragement and connection with the visit of Pastor William from Alhasa, Saudi Arabia, affirming that this work had become part of a greater global testimony.

From a small outreach in a resistant community to a standing church filled with worship and hope, the story of FGD Youhanabad No. 2 Church is one of breakthrough, provision, and God’s faithfulness at every step.

“The work we are witnessing is a true reflection of Christ and the early Church—a Giving, Multiplying, Sacrificial, and Selfless fellowship. Through Pastor Shafqat Shoukat, these principles have been deeply rooted in us, and now we are faithfully passing them on to the next generation. This is clearly the hand of God at work among us.”

2017 Breakthrough

In November 2017, just before Christmas, a single meeting became the turning point that opened the door for church planting in Youhanabad No. 2—a deeply overlooked and broken community marked by poverty, diverse belief systems, and a heavy spiritual darkness where no church had ever stood.

Into this void, FGD Ministries, led by Pastor Shafqat Shoukat, stepped out in faith. As they began reaching the people, God connected them with Barkat Masih—now the in-charge pastor of FGD Khaliq Nagar Church. What followed was not easy. It became a long and intense spiritual battle. While evangelizing, Pastor Shafqat, Pastor Barkat, and the FGD team faced direct attacks and fierce opposition. Yet, they refused to retreat.

Through every threat and resistance, they persevered.

Then came the breakthrough.

On November 22, 2017, despite overwhelming objections, the leadership of FGD stood firm—the convention would happen. And it did. What seemed impossible became a divine moment of transformation. Hearts that were once hardened began to open.

In a powerful and humbling turn, even a prominent religious leader from the area secretly approached Pastor Barkat. With deep conviction, he shared his personal encounter with Christ—how he had seen Him, met Him, and accepted Him as Lord and Savior. Though hidden from public view, he now continues in quiet discipleship, growing in the truth of Jesus and His Word.

What began as resistance turned into revelation.
What stood in darkness encountered Light.
And what seemed impossible became a testimony of God’s undeniable power.

December 14, 2017

On December 14, 2017, just weeks after the breakthrough that shifted the spiritual atmosphere of Youhanabad No. 2, a historic moment unfolded—the first large-scale gathering of people in an area that had long been marked by resistance, darkness, and silence.

What once seemed impossible had now become a living reality.

People began to gather—men, women, and families—drawn not by force, but by a growing hunger for hope, truth, and freedom. The same ground that once resisted the Gospel now hosted voices of worship, prayer, and the Word of God being proclaimed boldly.

This meeting was more than just an event—it was a declaration.

A declaration that the darkness had been challenged.
A declaration that the Gospel had taken root.
A declaration that God had begun something no opposition could stop.

For Pastor Shafqat Shoukat, Pastor Barkat Masih, and the FGD team, it was a moment of deep confirmation. Every struggle, every attack, every moment of perseverance had led to this visible sign of breakthrough. The seeds sown in faith were now beginning to bear fruit.

December 14 was not the end—it was the beginning of a movement.

A movement where light would continue to rise,
where lives would be transformed,
and where a once-forgotten place would become a testimony of God’s power and grace.

What began as a breakthrough in hearts soon took form on the ground.

In faith and obedience, FGD Ministries stepped forward to secure land in Youhanabad No. 2—a place once overshadowed by spiritual darkness, now marked for God’s glory. It was more than just a purchase; it was a declaration that the presence of God would dwell in a place long forgotten.

As construction began, brick by brick, the walls of the church started to rise. Each layer carried prayers, sacrifices, and unwavering faith. Despite challenges and limitations, the vision never wavered. What was once empty ground was now becoming a sanctuary of hope.

By August 2018, the walls were finally completed.

And then came a moment that words can hardly capture—the very first gathering within those newly built walls. No roof, no finishing, yet filled with something far greater: the presence of God and the faith of His people.

Voices of worship echoed where silence once reigned.
Prayers were lifted where fear once lived.
And the Word of God was proclaimed boldly within those unfinished walls.

That first meeting was not just a service—it was a fulfillment of promise.

A visible sign that what God had started, He had faithfully brought into reality.
And a powerful reminder that from breakthrough… to gathering… to building—He was establishing His Church, and nothing could stand against it.

September 15, 2018

On September 15, 2018, just as the walls of the church stood as a visible testimony of faith, God released provision in a remarkable and timely way.

In the midst of limited resources but unwavering vision, a faithful man—Mr. Sheryar—came to Youhanabad No. 2. As he witnessed what God was doing, saw the rising structure, and sensed the hunger of the people for a place to gather and worship, his heart was moved.

Then came a moment that marked the next step of the journey.

With quiet conviction and generosity, he declared that his family would take full responsibility for the roof installation.

It was more than support—it was divine provision.

Where there had been a covering missing, God provided one.
Where there had been a need, God answered through a willing heart.

The standing walls were already a testimony of breakthrough…
but now, through this act of faith, the church would be covered, protected, and ready to embrace what God was continuing to build.

September 15, 2018 became a reminder that the same God who starts the work is faithful to complete it—providing at the right time, through the right people, for His greater purpose.

March 2019

In March 2019, something deeply sacred unfolded in Youhanabad No. 2—the first gathering beneath the newly installed roof.

It was not a large or grand event by worldly standards, but it carried a weight that words can hardly capture. For the first time, the believers stepped into a space that was no longer exposed, no longer incomplete—but covered. Protected. Set apart.

There were no elaborate arrangements—just people who had walked through opposition, stood through uncertainty, and now found themselves sitting under a roof that only weeks ago seemed out of reach.

That day felt different.

Every prayer carried a deeper gratitude.
Every song rose with a stronger conviction.
Every moment echoed with the quiet realization—God has done this.

The walls no longer just stood as structure…
they now embraced a people.
And the roof above became more than shelter—it became a sign that God had not only brought them this far, but had chosen to dwell among them.

March 2019 was not about crowds or recognition.

It was about a promise fulfilled,
a people gathered,
and a house that had finally become a home.

April 2019

In April 2019, the newly covered church in Youhanabad No. 2 witnessed a moment of strengthening, connection, and renewed vision.

What had begun in quiet gratitude in March now grew into a gathering marked by encouragement and wider fellowship. The house that God had established was no longer just a testimony of provision—it was becoming a center of unity and growth.

On this special occasion, the church was honored by the visit of Pastor William from Alhasa City, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. His presence carried deep significance. It was a reminder that the work unfolding in this once-overlooked place was not hidden—it was part of a greater movement of God reaching across nations.

As the believers gathered, there was a sense of joy and affirmation. Worship rose with confidence, and the Word was shared with strength. Pastor William encouraged the congregation, uplifting their faith and reminding them that what God had begun, He would continue to grow.

April 2019 became a moment of connection—where a local testimony met a global fellowship.

It was a sign that this church was not standing alone,
but was part of something far greater than itself.

From a humble beginning…
to a growing community…
to a connection beyond borders—

God was establishing not just a church,
but a living testimony of His power, unity, and grace.
