About Dispensary

The story of Gohawa Village Dispensary is one of faith, perseverance, and transformation. It begins with Mrs. Kinza Arslan, formerly known as Ms. Kinza Shehbaz, whose journey reflects both dedication to learning and a deep desire to serve her community. From an early stage, she demonstrated an exceptional ability to understand, grow, and apply knowledge with sincerity and purpose. Her commitment became even more evident when she successfully completed her two-year Lady Health Visitor (LHV) Diploma, equipping herself with the skills to care for others in a meaningful and professional way.

Recognizing her potential and passion, the leadership of FGD chose to support her not only as a healthcare worker but as a symbol of empowerment—helping her build a respectable livelihood in her own hometown. What followed was nothing short of remarkable. Doors that once seemed firmly shut began to open in unexpected ways.

Perhaps the most powerful transformation was within her own family. Her father and grandfather, who had once been strongly opposed to the idea of women earning, experienced a profound change of heart. Over time, they not only accepted her calling but became actively involved in supporting her vision. In a meaningful turn, they took part in identifying and selecting a suitable location within the village for the dispensary, contributing their guidance and approval toward its establishment—marking a complete shift from resistance to support.

This journey reflects a powerful truth—that with faith, persistence, and the grace of God, even the most rigid barriers can be softened and transformed. The establishment of Gohawa Village Dispensary is not just about healthcare; it is about dignity, opportunity, and renewed perspectives. It also fulfills a greater vision of FGD: empowering women, uplifting communities, and giving the younger generation a chance to rise, compete, and succeed in life.

Today, the dispensary stands not only as a center for healing but as a living testimony of hope—showing that change is possible, and that courage, when guided by faith, can inspire an entire community.

Our Vision

The vision for Gohawa Village Dispensary was born out of a deep awareness of both the physical and social realities of the area. Gohawa is a predominantly Muslim-majority community, with little to no visible Church presence—either in terms of buildings or a local Christian population. In such a setting, the calling was not to build identity through structures, but to reflect faith through service, compassion, and genuine care for every individual, regardless of background.

At the heart of this vision lies a critical need: access to safe, reliable, and professional healthcare. For years, the village has faced a shortage of qualified medical practitioners. In their place, many untrained and unregistered individuals have filled the gap—often putting lives at risk through unsafe practices and misinformation. In many cases, these so-called treatments have proven more harmful than the illnesses themselves, especially for vulnerable groups like women, children, and the elderly.

The dispensary aims to change this reality by establishing a trusted center of medical care—where people can receive proper diagnosis, treatment, and guidance. A special focus is placed on mothers and women’s health, ensuring safe maternal care, education, and support that can transform entire families and future generations.

Beyond treatment, the vision is also about awareness—educating the community on health, hygiene, and preventive care, so that people are empowered to make informed decisions about their well-being.

At a deeper level, this initiative represents a mission of service: to bring hope, dignity, and healing into a place where such resources have long been limited. It stands as a quiet yet powerful expression of faith in action—serving humanity with love, integrity, and excellence.

Through this dispensary, the goal is not only to heal bodies but to restore trust, uplift standards of care, and provide the younger generation with a model of what it means to serve and succeed with purpose.

“I am deeply grateful to Dr. Sarafeen, Dr. Simon, and Ps. Shafqat Shoukat, who didn’t just teach me medicine—they showed me how healing and faith walk hand in hand. They shaped not only my skills, but my purpose. I also thank FGD for believing in me and empowering me to serve my community with dignity and calling.”
