About the Kiln

The Faisalabad City Kiln, located on the outskirts of the city, is home to families trapped in cycles of generational labor that span more than five generations. For many, this is not just a workplace—it is the only life they have ever known.

Great-great-grandfathers once labored here. Their sons continued the same work. Today, their children and grandchildren still shape bricks under the same harsh conditions, often living and dying within the boundaries of the same kiln. Entire families—more than ten within this single community—share the same history of bondage, hardship, and limited opportunity.

This is not just poverty. It is inherited limitation.

FGD Ministries has stepped into this reality with a vision that goes beyond temporary relief. The mission is to reach the next generation—especially the children—and create a pathway for them to break free from the cycle that has defined their families for decades.

But this work is not easy.

True transformation requires more than aid. It demands compassion, consistency, and intentional care. It means bringing not only supplies, but also restoring something far deeper—their sense of identity, dignity, and self-worth.

These children are born into an environment where labor is normal, where survival is the daily goal, and where dreams are often never introduced. From the moment they open their eyes, they see their parents working tirelessly just to secure daily bread—and nothing more.

That is the reality we confront.

Because the deepest challenge is not only physical or economic—it is internal. It is a worldview shaped by generations of limitation, where worth is measured by labor and identity is defined by survival.

And that is where the real work begins.

To reach these communities is to fight for more than provision—it is to fight for perspective, for purpose, and for the belief that their lives were created for something greater.

Our Vision

Our vision is the freedom of generations bound in cycles of labor and inherited limitation within the kiln communities.

The present is given freedom; the next generation is given purpose and opportunity.

This freedom is not something that can simply be handed out—it must be built, nurtured, and sustained. True freedom is never bought; it is earned through transformation, access, and a renewed sense of identity.

That is why FGD Ministries steps in.

We do not come only to respond to today’s need—we come to reshape tomorrow’s reality.

Our mission is to break the cycle at its root. While we stand with the present generation—bringing support, care, and intervention—we invest deeply in the next generation through education, guidance, and life-giving opportunities.

Because when a child is given the chance to learn, to grow, and to see beyond survival, everything changes.

Education becomes the doorway.
Opportunity becomes the bridge.
And dignity becomes the foundation for a different future.

Our vision is not temporary relief—it is lasting transformation.

A generation set free, and another raised with purpose, equipped to never return to the same cycle again.

History of the Kiln Ministry

The Kiln Ministry began in 2017 with a single step of obedience in Jhandyala Village.

What started as a response to one community in need soon revealed a much deeper reality—generations of families living and working in brick kilns, bound by cycles of labor, poverty, and limitation that had gone unchallenged for decades.

In Jhandyala, FGD Ministries encountered more than physical need. The team witnessed entire families shaped by inherited hardship, where children were born into the same life their parents and grandparents had lived. It became clear that this was not a short-term problem—it required a long-term mission.

That first outreach was not just the beginning of service—it was the beginning of vision.

As relationships were built and trust was formed, the work began to grow. What started in one village expanded into a broader movement reaching multiple kiln communities, each with its own challenges but the same underlying reality.

With every visit, medical camp, and moment of outreach, the ministry deepened its understanding: real change would require consistency, compassion, and a commitment to both present relief and future transformation.

Today, the Kiln Ministry has become more than a single location or effort. It is an expanding mission—reaching beyond one village and one community—carrying the same purpose wherever it goes:

To break cycles, restore dignity, and create pathways for the next generation to rise beyond the life they inherited.

What began in Jhandyala was only the start.
What continues today is a growing movement of hope.

“We do not just enter the kiln to serve—we enter to restore what was lost: dignity, identity, and the freedom to choose a different life.”

Faisalabad City Kiln School

In the heart of the Faisalabad kiln community, education does not happen inside classrooms—it happens wherever space can be found.

There is no formal school building. No structured facilities. No proper classrooms.

Instead, classes are held under simple brick structures—makeshift shelters built to provide minimal protection from the scorching sun, strong winds, and seasonal rains. These walls do not offer comfort, but they create just enough space for something powerful to begin: learning.

Here, children who were once expected to spend their lives in labor are given a different starting point.

The classes are simple, but intentional.

Children are taught how to read and write—often for the very first time. They are introduced to foundational education, basic literacy, and a new way of thinking beyond survival. Alongside this, they are nurtured with values, guidance, and the Word of God, helping shape not only their minds, but their identity.

Because the goal is not just education—it is transformation.

These children come from families where generations have worked only to survive. Many have never seen what opportunity looks like. For them, stepping into even a basic learning environment is stepping into a new reality.

Every lesson taught under those brick shelters is a step away from generational bondage.
Every word learned is a step toward independence.
Every child reached is a future being rewritten.

This school may not have walls, but it carries a vision strong enough to break cycles.

It is not built with infrastructure—it is built with purpose.

Our Approach

We reach these children with a different purpose—and a different method. In environments where exposure is limited and learning is shaped by observation, our approach is built around presence, experience, and intentional transformation.

Learning Through Listening

Before teaching begins, listening comes first.
We create space for children to be heard—understanding their environment, their thoughts, and the realities they have grown up in. This builds trust and opens the door for meaningful learning.

Learning Through Experience

These children learn best not through theory, but through what they see and experience.
We design simple, practical, and engaging ways for them to learn—turning everyday moments into opportunities for growth and understanding.

Reframing What Is “Normal”

In kiln communities, children grow up accepting everything around them as normal—both right and wrong.
Our role is to gently challenge and reshape that understanding, introducing healthier perspectives, values, and possibilities.

Expanding Their Worldview

For many, the kiln is their entire world.
We intentionally expose them to new ideas, new thinking, and a broader vision of life—helping them see beyond what they have always known.

Restoring Identity and Self-Worth

Generational poverty often shapes how children see themselves.
We focus on rebuilding identity—helping them understand their value, dignity, and potential beyond their circumstances.

Consistency Over Complexity

Transformation does not come from one-time efforts.
It comes through consistent presence, repeated engagement, and steady investment—showing up again and again until change takes root.

This approach is simple, but intentional.

Because when learning is reshaped, perspective is restored, and identity is rebuilt—true transformation begins.

Clothing Distribution at Faisalabad City Kiln

In the kiln communities, clothing is not a matter of choice—it is often a matter of necessity. Many families live with only a few worn garments, exposed daily to dust, heat, and harsh working conditions. For children especially, inadequate clothing not only affects their health but also their dignity and confidence.

FGD Ministries steps into this need with intentional clothing distribution—providing clean, weather-appropriate clothes to families who would otherwise go without. What may seem simple becomes deeply meaningful in this environment.

Restoring Dignity
Receiving clean clothes allows children and families to experience a renewed sense of self-worth. It is not just about covering the body, but about restoring dignity in a place where it is often stripped away.

Meeting Seasonal Needs
From protecting against the intense summer heat to providing warmth during winter, clothing distribution ensures that families are better equipped to face changing conditions.

Supporting Children’s Growth
For children attending classes, proper clothing creates a sense of belonging and normalcy. It helps them engage more confidently in learning, free from the discomfort and distraction of inadequate attire.

A Tangible Expression of Care
Clothing distribution is more than provision—it is a visible reminder that these families are seen, valued, and not forgotten.

Medical Intervention in Kiln Communities

In the kiln communities, sickness is not just a health issue—it is often a matter of survival.

Limited access to medical care, poor living conditions, and ongoing malnutrition make even treatable diseases life-threatening. For many families, there is no doctor to visit, no medicine to take, and no system to rely on when illness strikes.

FGD Ministries steps into this gap with direct medical intervention—bringing basic healthcare, medicine, and awareness to communities that would otherwise go without.

However, in the Faisalabad City Kiln, there is currently no active medical outreach. The resources and time required to establish consistent intervention have not yet been available—leaving the people of this kiln to fend for themselves in times of sickness and crisis, especially in the Monsoon season.

And the need intensifies even further during the monsoon season.

Over the past two years, heavy rains have caused widespread devastation across regions. For kiln communities, the impact is far more severe. Flooding, poor drainage, and mismanagement of rainwater force families out of their living spaces, disrupting not only their shelter but also their only source of daily income.

What may seem like temporary displacement often becomes the beginning of a deeper crisis.

As waters recede, disease begins to spread.

Stagnant water becomes a breeding ground for mosquitoes, leading to outbreaks of malaria and dengue. Contaminated water sources result in dysentery and other infections. In environments where nutrition is already lacking, these diseases hit harder and spread faster.

Children and the elderly are the most vulnerable.

With weakened bodies and no access to timely medical care, many are unable to withstand the burden of these illnesses. What could have been treated becomes fatal—not because it is untreatable, but because help never reaches in time—but because no help is available at all.

This is the reality in the Faisalabad City Kiln today.

Breaking Chains, Restoring Generations

The Reality We Face

Families Bound by Generational Labor

Entire families remain trapped in cycles of inherited work, where breaking free is not just difficult—it is almost unimaginable. Generations live and die in the same conditions, with little access to alternatives.

Children Without Access to Education

For many children, school is not an option. Instead of classrooms, they grow up in labor environments, missing the foundational years that shape learning, growth, and future opportunity.

Severe Health Risks

Daily exposure to extreme heat, toxic smoke, and unsafe working conditions leads to ongoing health complications. Without protection or awareness, even minor issues can become serious over time.

Lack of Basic Medical Care

Access to healthcare is minimal or nonexistent. When illness comes, families are left without treatment, resources, or support—turning preventable conditions into life-threatening situations.

Spiritual Darkness and Isolation

These communities are often unreached and overlooked. Many have never encountered a message of hope, purpose, or identity beyond survival, leaving a deep spiritual and emotional gap.

This is the environment we step into—where the need is not just physical, but deeply rooted in every area of life.

Why This Work Matters

Restoring a Different Future

When a child begins to read instead of labor, it disrupts a cycle that has defined generations. Education becomes more than learning—it becomes the first real step toward freedom, dignity, and a life beyond the kiln.

Intervening Where Systems Have Failed

In places where healthcare, education, and social systems are absent, even basic support becomes life-changing. Providing medical care, resources, and presence is not charity—it is necessary intervention in a space where no one else is reaching.

Revealing Worth, Identity, and Hope

For many, the idea that they are seen, valued, and loved is completely new. When a worker hears they are not forgotten, it begins an internal shift—restoring identity, renewing hope, and opening the possibility of transformation.

A Call for Support and Prayer

This is where intervention matters.

With the right resources, lives can be saved.
With timely response, outbreaks can be controlled.
With consistent presence, communities can be protected.

We invite you to stand with us
